German culture of jobfinding

Date: 1. December 2023, 14:00 – 2. December 2023, 16:00Location: K2-119 - Seminarraum, Erwin-Rommel-Straße 60, 91058 Erlangen.

The interview on a new job is culturally coded. Shaking hands was very important at the beginning of an interview. Since the beginning of the pandemic this habit changed to more distanced welcoming practices. What does a hiring manager expect from an applicant? We will find out in this workshop with examples and role plays. Be prepared for your first online interview or share your experiences with the group and discuss it. This workshop in English and German will prepare you for your next interview. The term roleplay will be essential to your skills.

Workshop skills:
• Interview in real and online.
• Interview practices.
• German peculiarities.
• Clothing for an interview.
• Body language.

IMPORTANT: These seminars are paid for through student grants so you can use them free of charge. Please only register if you will definitely take part. If you register for a seminar and are absent without an excuse on the day of the event, you will be blocked from attending all future seminars.
