The MAP poster session for the winter semester 2023/24 finally took place on 01 February 2024, after senior MAP students had prepared to exhibit their posters in front of many visitors, including prospective students, professors, faculty members and staff. This presentation is an annual event that gives students the opportunity to present the scientific research to which they contributed during their undergraduate studies or even their master studies in the form of high-quality posters. The topics covered in the posters encompassed a large and wide variety of interdisciplinary science and engineering fields, ranging from computational methods to biomaterials, nanotechnology, and chemical processing.

During this dynamic event, every individual had the freedom to walk through the rows of posters while asking questions about those and conversing with poster owners about various aspects of each. If someone was even further interested in a particular work, they could ask questions and engage in discussions with the others. This is a great way for new and prospective students to get motivated and gain insight into what to expect in their future semesters, which focal subjects to choose, and what topic they should pick not only for their mini-projects but also for their Master’s thesis. Besides becoming acquainted with new topics and improving a proper connection with professors, senior students also get the experience of how to improve their presentation skills by accompanying and walking audiences through main ideas of their posters in a short amount of time.

At the end of the event, while guests helped themselves to the provided food and refreshing drinks, awards were granted to the best student of the matriculation group 2022 (Andrada-Ioana Damian-Buda), the best elected poster owners (1st prize: Aleksandra Klassa; 2nd prize: Yi-Ting Chiang; 3rd prize: Diana Bekenova) as well as the best lecturers of the year (Prof. Marco Haumann, Prof. Nicolas Vogel).
