On 14 June 2025, the Elite Cup football tournament brought together students from various Elite Master’s programs across Bavaria and this year, MAP was proud to join with its own team! We traveled by train from Erlangen to the Olympia Campus E11 in Munich, where the matches took place in the heart of the Olympia Garden. As soon as we arrived and changed into our gear, the tournament kicked off.

The event was well-organized, featuring fast-paced games, a midday lunch break, and smooth coordination throughout. Teams from various universities competed, creating a vibrant and diverse atmosphere. For MAP students, it was a valuable opportunity to connect with MAP alumni, exchanging insights about career paths beyond the program while enjoying the spirit of competition. It also offered a great chance to reconnect with colleagues and batchmates, as MAP students often work in a wide range of fields due to the program’s diversity.

The MAP team exceeded expectations and made it all the way to the semi-finals, where they faced the University of Augsburg. It was a thrilling match, Augsburg led 2-1 for most of the game, but MAP equalized in the final moments. The match went to a penalty shootout, where, after a long and tense round, the MAP team narrowly missed victory. Despite the result, the team spirit remained high, and players left with smiles and great memories.

All in all, it was a fantastic day of sports, networking, and student unity, a reminder of the vibrant community within the Elite Network of Bavaria. As MAP students we would like to commend the MAP Office for their unwavering support which allows us to pursue activities in and beyond academic circles.
