Prerequisites for MAP applicants

Applicants are required to have an excellent Bachelor’s degree in Chemical and Biological Engineering, Materials Science and Engineering or related subjects. German applicants should have an overall Bachelor’s grade of 2,2 or better. International applicants coming from different grading systems need to have been awarded a mark in their undergraduate degree equivalent to “good”. All applicants have in common that they are performance oriented, eager for knowledge, hard working and diligent. Once becoming a MAP-student, everyone shows a strong motivation for interdisciplinary study and is able to demonstrate an above average level of interest in cutting edge research topics relating to some or all of the MAP focal subjects.

Since MAP is an international study program and lectures are held in English, very good command of the English language is to be demonstrated via a Minimum score of 85 Points in the Internet-based test (iBT), Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) (or equivalent), e.g. at least B2 level of the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR) for languages.
