1000 Miles Run – fundraising run of Technology without Borders e. V.

Dear fellow students, dear running enthusiasts, dear couch potatoes,

On June 29th 2025, from 11:30 a.m. the 1000 Miles Run - the fundraising run of Technology without Borders e. V. - will take place at the sports faculty ground of FAU with great weather, sunshine and good mood.

1000 miles don't walk themselves, 1000 beers don't drink themselves, 1000 delicious grilled sausages and meatless alternatives don't eat themselves, 1000 charitable projects don't finance themselves.
That's why we need you, not your money, not your education, but just you and your strong calves.

For what do you run?
We are a non-profit association and a university group of FAU. We carry out technical projects to improve the living conditions of people in developing countries. To fund projects such as medical waste disposal at Ghanaian hospitals and sanitation at Haitian schools, we organize the 1000 Miles Run. Why should you participate?
Sponsors are lining up to reward each of your hard-won meters. Everyone can run as long as he or she wants and can. It is only important that we reach our goal of 1000 run miles together; otherwise, the sponsors will only donate proportionally. Of course, you are free to support us with your own donation, for which you will, of course, receive a receipt. Thank you very much for that! In addition, all runners will receive free runner's refreshments along the route (water, isodrinks and fruit).

Like last year, you can run together with your friends or colleagues as a team. Furthermore, the best Franconian specialties await you: ice-cold beer, yes, beer! And sausages! And of course also something vegan!
But not only for your physical well-being is well provided.
After all, runners have given their best and the 1000 miles are in the can, we will end the day together with Beerpong, Flunkyball, and a cozy get-together. For all you water rats, there will also be a paddling pool where you can enjoy a well-deserved cool down after all your exertion.
