Materials Science Summer Festival

The festive afternoon will be opened by the speaker of the department, Prof. Dr. rer. nat. Mathias Göken, as well as with words of welcome from the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Prof. Dr.-Ing. Kai Willner.

We are then looking forward to the keynote speech by Prof. Dr.-Ing. Martin Heilmaier from the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT), Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, on the topic:
“Development of Novel High Temperature Oxidation Resistant Refractory Alloys”.Prof. Heilmaier studied and completed his doctorate in the Department of Materials Science at FAU in Erlangen.

After looking back on six decades of research, innovation and joint successes, we are also looking forward: as part of the celebratory event, outstanding degrees and doctorates of young talents will be honored with prizes from the companies Semikron Danfoss, Brose Fahrzeugteile and the Department of Materials Science.

From 5 p.m., we cordially invite you to a convivial finale as part of the summer party in the outdoor area - with live music, food from the barbecue and a selection of cool drinks and freshly tapped beer, organized by the FSI WW.
