The MAP team warmly welcomes 26 new MAP students from the 2023 starting class! We are proud that you have overcome many obstacles and are finally part of the MAP family by now! We wish you all a great time in the MAP program and hope that you will soon adjust to living in a new country.

In order to become a MAP student, applicants always have to overcome certain barriers. The interview process is a great challenge for many, others deal with organizational problems in their home countries.

Despite all these and other troubles, 26 students officially started with their MAP studies. Again, the mixture of countries, academic background and gender is very unique! Our 26 new students come from a total of 14 countries and are therefore once again a very diverse group. We welcome our first ever MAP student from Sri Lanka and celebrate again with all our students´ diversity in many areas!

By now, all students have arrived safely in Erlangen and are already settling into life at FAU.  To officially welcome them here and to make it easier for them to make new friends, we organized the MAP Welcome Party in the first week of lectures. As every year, this event is a small get-together to which lecturers, members of the MAP Office, MAP students from a higher semester and, of course, new students are cordially invited. The event was a success again this year and everyone had a lovely evening, also thanks to the good finger food and drinks.

We wish all MAP students to establish friendships and to look forward to the scientific work! Good luck to all of you!
